This weekend marked one of the toughest and most triggering times for me, a journey I'm not ready to unpack fully.
However, amidst the struggles, I want to share a glimpse of my growth โ not to dwell on the pain but to inspire and encourage you.
In the past, facing a triggering situation would have led me down a path of self-destruction:
๐๐ฝ I would have turned to alcohol to numb the pain.
๐๐ฝ Seeking attention in unhealthy ways.
๐๐ฝ Indulging in binge eating and unhealthy habits.
๐๐ฝ Drowning in negative self-talk without remorse.
๐๐ฝ Allowing self-pity to extend the impact for months.
But this time, in the face of adversity, I've witnessed transformative growth:
๐ซถ๐ฝ Choosing Sobriety: I reminded myself why I chose an alcohol-free life, resisting the urge to self-medicate.
๐ซถ๐ฝ Finding Strength in Faith: Instead of seeking external validation, I turned to my source of strength โ Jesus Christ.
๐ซถ๐ฝ Sticking to Routines: Even in moments of low motivation, I adhered to routines as best as I could.
๐ซถ๐ฝ Conquering Negative Self-Talk: While the struggle remains, I swiftly take captive negative thoughts, preventing them from taking over.
๐ซถ๐ฝ Seeking Support: I reached out for prayer, connecting with trusted loved ones who guided me back to the path of strength.
I invite you to reflect on your old coping strategies and the positive changes you've embraced. If you find yourself where I was five years ago, uncertain of where to begin, consider the steps above or hop on a free 20-minute clarity call with me.
Let's navigate this journey together, and I'd love to be a supportive companion on your path to growth. ๐๐ค๐ฝ
Remember โ tough times don't last, but tough people do. ๐
